"They say all good things come to an end. I have taken on many challenges in my career, almost everything was supposed to be impossible. Incredible feelings, special moments, and memories that will last a lifetime. Reflecting on these moments, it is with great pride and a sense of satisfaction that I announce I am retiring from the sport we all love."

He won the Spanish league three times and Champions League four times. He then moved to Manchester United and last season won the FA Cup with them. For this season, he was supposed to play in Serie A, Como but chose instead to end his career.
