"He gave us luck"

Ed Sheeran was at the game between Tottenham and Ipswich this weekend and to everyone's great surprise, Ipswich won 2-1. 

– He might have brought us some luck, says coach Kieran McKenna.

It was 22 years since Ipswich won a game in the Premier League. The team has not had it easy, but this weekend they showed what they're made of. Especially fun for Sheeran who was there, but also that the team won in the pink away kit, which he helped design. He became a sponsor of the kit in 2021 and at the same time bought a share in the club. Sheeran later slipped into the dressing room to celebrate and congratulate the team.

– He congratulated the guys, and everyone knows he's been an important part of the club in recent years with the support he gives us, so it was nice for him to be here, says McKenna about Sheeran's presence.

Ed Sheeran has been involved in the team and at the premiere against Liverpool he helped serve pies.

– It's a huge day for the fans to see their club win in the Premier League against such a fantastic club as Tottenham, at such a stadium against such a team, says McKenna.
