A dramatic match between Tottenham and Chelsea

Cucurella slipped twice!

A dramatic match unfolded in London on Sunday afternoon. Tottenham's Dominic Solanke scored the opening goal. Just five minutes later, Cucurella slipped again, allowing Dejan Kulusevski to place the ball at the left post and extend Tottenham's lead.

However, both luck for Cucurella and the course of the match for Chelsea turned around. After changing his boots, the full-back managed to contribute with an assist that led to 2-1. Jadon Sancho reduced the deficit with an impressive solo goal.

After the break, Chelsea took control of the game, while Tottenham collapsed by conceding two penalties. Cole Palmer converted both penalties. Between these goals, Enzo Fernández scored a leading goal that further cemented Chelsea's dominance.

– I saw that the goalkeeper was preparing to dive, so I decided to chip it, Palmer shared during the Viaplay broadcast.

Tottenham managed to reduce the deficit just before the end, but there wasn’t enough time to recover the loss.

– We knew it was going to be a tough game, so it's nice that we managed to win, Palmer said afterwards.

Tottenham's coach Ange Postecoglou commented on the match with disappointment:

– This is painful. We started really well, but after losing Romero, we were forced to change a lot, which gave Chelsea the chance to take over. We had chances to score a third goal but didn’t take them, and the two penalties were also weak efforts from our side.

With the victory, Chelsea climbs to second place in the Premier League table. They are now four points behind Liverpool, who still have a game in hand after this weekend's postponed derby.
